“Have you ever browned butter? It’s an easy way to take a recipe that relies on butter up a notch in flavor. Just by cooking the butter a little past the melting point results in the milk solids in the butter browning, and creating a wonderfully nutty aroma. It’s fun to do with butter-based sauces, baked goods that call for melted butter, or with vegetables such as winter squash that you sauté in butter. Just be sure to keep your eye on it while cooking; it’s pretty easy to go from browned to burnt.”
I browned butter for the first time tonight! It wasn’t hard at all, it makes your house smell AMAZING, andddd I am super excited about these Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies with Sea Salt we are making!!

There has finally come a day when I have use for a rubber whisk and it’s going on my Christmas list!
My darling came down the stairs and said, “That smells incredible!”
Ladies and gentlemen, someone needs to get Yankee candle on the horn and tell them to make a ‘Browned Butter‘ scented candle!
I’d buy it. Hell, you’d probably have to stop me from trying to eat it!
Browned, nutty, buttery goodness.
**On a later note, we ended up not making the chocolate chip cookies last night. We decided to make 3 other kinds!
